Brownells now offers their own AR-15 handguards/rails called Wrenchman. The company’s goal is to offer handguards packed with all the features modern shooters demand at an affordable price. Currently, these rails are available in two versions – Wrenchman and Wrenchman Precision. Let’s take a closer look at each of them.
Brownells Wrenchman Handguard
The Wrenchman handguard is machined out of aluminum and has a black anodized finish. It features a top Picatinny rail and M-LOK slots on 3, 6, 9 o’clock positions. These handguards are clamped to steel barrel nuts via two bolts. The barrel nut comes with a timing tool that allows ensuring perfect alignment of the handguard’s top rail with the upper receiver rail of your rifle.
The Brownells Wrenchman handguard is available in three length options: 10.5″, 12.6″, and 15″. Depending on the length of the handguard, the weight varies from 11.9 to 14.95 ounces. The internal diameter of these rails is 1.25″.
The MSRP of 10.5″, 12.6″ and 15″ Wrenchman rails is $124.99, $132.99 and $140.99 respectively.
Brownells Wrenchman Precision Handguard
The materials and finishes of Wrenchman Precision handguard are identical to that of the standard Wrenchman handguard. However, it is a precision shooting oriented product and has a more robust attachment mechanism. The Wrenchman Precision utilizes a longer barrel nut and three bolts for clamping the handguard to the barrel nut. Another difference is the existence of an Arca-Swiss rail at the rearmost bottom portion of the handguard which when the handguard is installed on the rifle will be located right in front of the magazine well allowing to secure the weapon in an Arca-Swiss compatible tripod. All the slots on this handguard are M-LOK.
The Brownells Wrenchman Precision handguard is available in 12.6″ and 15″ length options. The shorter rail weighs in at 14.96 oz and the weight of the 15″ handguard is 16.62 oz. The internal diameter is 1.25″.
