POTD: Long Range Shooting in Mongolia
Photo Of The Day, and we travel to Mongolia and the long-range sighting-in bay.
There are steel targets from 50 meters out to 1,000 meters. Oh! What a dream that would be for me.
With Livestock, farm animals, walking around on the shooting area there’s just one rule – please don’t shoot the animals!
Having flown from Europe to Mongolia, the shooter managed with a cold bore first shot hit the steel out to 600 meters. Unfortunately, at 700 there was a miss (near hit), with a competition AR15 in .223 Remington.
TOP GUN RIFLE TEAM finished first, second and third at Mongolian Steppe Rifle LVL3.
IPSC was first introduced into Mongolia in 2009 and is handled by the Mongolian Practical Shooting Association. In the IPSC Rifle World Shoot 2017, Russia, the Mongolian shooters managed to win 4 bronze medals through a team effort.
