The 2019 European IPSC Handgun Championship (EHC) is about to start. The people in the Pre-Match are busy shooting as this article goes live, and very soon it is time for the Main Match.
Hopefully this match will be less wet and muddy than the previous Championships in Hungary in 2016.
Regardless of the weather, TFB will be there with either an umbrella or – hopefully – sunscreen and sunglasses.
The match takes place at the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit Base, Naselje, in Belgrade, Serbia between the 9-13th September, 2019.
The EHC is an IPSC Handgun Level 4 (Level 5 is a World championship), with 24 stages and a minimum of 460 rounds to complete.
The main match has a capacity of 720 competitors, and there will be 5 days of competition where the participants shoot 6 stages per half day.
Under the approval of their Regional Director, any competitors from all IPSC Regions are welcome to shoot the match.
The Championship is open to the following Handgun Divisions: Classic, Open, Production, Revolver, Standard, Production Optics and Production Optics Light.
I think a lot of eyes will be on the (fairly) new divisions: Production Optics (compare to Carry Optics) and Production Optics Light and which solutions that will conquer or possibly fail.
The shooting range looks superb, and perfect for handgun or shotgun competitions. Possibly PCC as well.

In competitions of higher levels there are usually a lot of fun props, as below for instance. That swinger with a penalty target in the middle looks challenging. Picture from 2013.
