POTD: Maritime Raid – Force Reconnaissance Marines
Photo Of The Day takes us to the Coral Sea as Force Reconnaissance Marines with the Maritime Raid Force provide security while clearing a ship during a visit, board, search and seizure exercise.
This took place earlier in 2019 aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland.
You can check more details about the ship here: USS Ashland (LSD-48). The ship has some interesting history.
USS Ashland is part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group and operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency
