POTD: Conquered German Schmeisser MP40

    Are conquered enemy guns the best? In this case a German Schmeisser MP40 used by an allied forces soldier in the rubble.

    Well, that is the question as we go back to World War II in this Photo Of The Day.

    The caption reads:

    The Battle for Caen, between June to August 1944, is the name for the fighting between the British Second Army and German Panzergruppe West.

    Ken Bell, who took this photo, was a Canadian photographer who served with the Canadian armed forces during the Second World War. He used a Rolleiflex camera. You can read more about him here.
