Seekins Precision has introduced the second generation of the hunting version of their HAVAK bolt action rifles – the Professional Hunter 2 (PH2). These rifles are now equipped with carbon composite stocks with the company’s HAVAK action hand bedded into it.
Although the PH2 rifle may look almost identical to its predecessor, the Pro Hunter 1, there are some design changes and new caliber options. In fact, because people were frequently asking to explain what are the differences between the two generations, the company put together the following infographic.
Besides above-mentioned features, the Seekins Precision PH2 rifle also features a full diameter spiral fluted bolt body, M16 style extractor, threaded removable bolt knob, removable bolt head, 4 locking lugs and a 90-degree bolt throw. Both the bolt and receiver are made of stainless steel and are bead blasted. The 20 MOA Picatinny rail section is attached to the receiver via five 8-32 screws. The muzzle of the spiral fluted barrel is threaded with the 5/8×24 thread pitch. The overall weight of the rifle is 6.9 lbs.
Below you can see which barrel length and twist rate option each caliber offering of the HAVAK PH2 rifle comes with (quoted from the company’s website):
- 6.5mm Creedmoor / 24″ / 1:8 twist
- 6.5 PRC / 24″ / 1:8 twist
- 6mm Creedmoor / 24″ / 1:8 twist
- .308 Win / 24″ / 1:11 twist
- 28 Nosler / 26″ / 1:8.6 twist
- 300 Win Mag / 26″ / 1:10 twist
- 300 PRC / 26″ / 1:10 twist
- 338 Win Mag 26″ / 1:10 twist
- 7mm Rem Mag / 26″ / 1:8.5 twist
The PH2 rifles also feature detachable magazines. The 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5mm Creedmoor and .308 Winchester rifles come with a Magpul 5-round PMAG magazine. The PH2 rifles chambered in 6.5mm PRC, .300 Win Mag and 28 Nosler are shipped with Seekins Precision 3-round carbon fiber magazines. Presumably, the three new calibers also come with the 3-round magazines.
The MSRP of Seekins Precision HAVAK Professional Hunter 2 bolt action rifle is $1,895. The price is identical for all the caliber options. These rifles are built to order so there will probably be some wait time.
