Here’s FN America’s announcement of the FN 509 Midsize MRD:

FN America, LLC is pleased to announce the release of an optics-ready variant of its FN 509® Midsize pistol. The FN 509 Midsize MRD combines the highly desirable 15-round frame size with FN’s patented optics mounting platform.

The FN 509 Midsize MRD’s ideal combination of four-inch slide and barrel with midsize frame retain full-sized pistol performance in an easily concealed package. The Midsize MRD now features blacked-out cowitness iron sights that allow the user to maintain focus on the red dot of their optic with a clear sight picture. The pistol ships with two 15- or 10-round magazines and optics mounting hardware to mount more than 10 commercially available optics in a soft-sided zip case. The FN 509 Midsize MRD is now available at FN-authorized retailers nationwide and has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $799.00.

FN America, LLC announces the expansion of the FN 509® product line with the latest color variant, a full flat dark earth (FDE) model. The new FN 509 Standard FDE joins the FN 509, FN 509 Midsize and FN 509 Tactical in the line of striker-fired 9mm pistols. The new pistol has a suggested retail price of $679.00 and is shipping now to FN authorized retailers and is available for purchase.

The FN 509 family of pistols are all striker-fired and chambered in 9mm. Each pistol features FN’s signature cold hammer-forged barrel with recessed target crown, enhanced slide serrations for easier slide manipulation, aggressive grip texturing to ensure secure grip while shooting and much more. The FN 509 FDE, derived from a multi-year development effort to perfect its polymer pistol, is FN’s most tested platform to date.
