Daniel Defense Adds Three New Variants to DD5 Lineup
Daniel Defense announced the next three new additions to their existing DD5 line today. Each model accepts standard Magpul SR25/M110 pattern magazines, and some are available in multiple chamberings. These include 308 Winchester, 260 Remington, and 6.5 Creedmoor. Below are some of the new and existing features of the lineup.
- User-adjustable gas block for reliable suppressed shooting
- Superfinished and DLC-coated bolt carrier group makes it easy to clean and operate in all conditions
- The bolt carrier is equipped with a buffer for optimized cycling and improved recoil impulse
- 16″/18″/20″ Cold Hammer Forged proprietary steel chrome-lined barrel for a lifetime of accuracy and durability
- Innovative 4-Bolt Connection System to ensure greater accuracy
- GRIP-N-RIP independently Ambi charging handle with anti-gas features for a better shooting experience
All of these new rifles come only in an M-LOK rail configuration. It appears that Daniel Defense is committed to M-LOK, as KeyMod continues to fade away. All of these rifles are currently listed with an MSRP of $2,499. Below are each of the new models from Daniel Defense’s website.
Note: It appears the DD5V2 and DD5V1 will become legacy rifles, as they’re no longer listed on Daniel’s website. They have indicated that some of the legacy DD5 parts will interface with the new rifles. It remains unclear at this time if new upper receiver assemblies will be made available to legacy DD5 owners.

I asked about the uppers being sold separately... DD said that they would be for sale on the website later this fall.
So DD acknowledges the need for ambi controls with their new GIT-R-DONE charging handle but still refuses to build ambi features into lowers. And if you’re just using someone else’s tooling to make your lowers, you’re charging too much for these. And if you’re having your own tooling made up but not adding in ambi features while you’re at it, you’re an idiot. Until DD corrects this, Marty won’t ever be a premium manufacturer who’s name belongs aside KAC, LMT, LWRC, etc.
Oh, obligatory comment about DD supporting gun control since everybody mentions it about Springfield if they so much as offer a new T-shirt.
