In late June, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced that they’d discovered three hand grenades, seven guns, and other items of interest during a search warrant in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake, Alberta.  The raid resulted in three people being charged with 35 crimes.  The grenades were said to have been handed over to the Canadian Armed Forces in order to verify the original manufacturer and for safe keeping.  The RCMP photo below shows some of the items found during the search warrant.  However, I was unable to see any of the grenades, which were more than likely handled as little as possible.  There was no official word on the make and models of the firearns, but how many can you identify?

As for the six (of seven found) firearms in the photo, it looks like a left-handed Savage bolt action, a sawed-off Remington 870, and a very recognizeable SKS rifle were amongst the lot seized.  Does the AR pattern rifle and handgun look familar?  The pistol somewhat resembles a CZ 52 to me, but I’ll let you be the judge.

The other items recovered from the search warrant were listed in the press release HERE.

    • 416 grams of methamphetamine (0.9 lbs)
    • 17 grams of fentanyl
    • 1.5 grams of cocaine
    • Three hand grenades
    • Body armour
    • Seven firearms
    • Ammunition
    • $25,528 cash ($19,548 USD)

As with the firearms, the body armour… I mean armor, was not specified as to the make or model or even level of coverage provided.  It’s not completely surprising that such details are left out, since most of the world doesn’t care to know about such things.  However, for those of us in the know with firearms and body armor, and a mindset to keep abrest of what criminals are using, it can be irksome to see the details omitted.

What do you think about the criminal’s weaponry?  How many can you identifiy?  Let us know in the comments section below.
