“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in…” one of the most butchered quotes in all of Hollywood history could be applied here tonight. Two weeks ago TFB broke the news that the GLOCK Slimline pistols, previously only available in two-tone silver slides, would be hitting the shelves in all black. Now, GLOCK EU is advertising the same new Slimlines with a slim mounting rail. Apparently dubbed the G43X Rail and G48 Rail respectfully, the new pistols seem identical to the U.S. offerings except for the addition of a mount for a light or laser.
No official comment from Austria or Smyrna is available, however, since the latest Slimline GLOCKs just hit the store shelves today, I’d guess that the railed versions won’t see an American debut for some time to come, if at all.
So, are you jealous of our EU brothers and sisters? Or is mounting a light to an ultra compact pistol a step in the wrong direction?

G43X Rail – The new subcompact GLOCK Slimline pistol with rail

Chambered in 9 mm Luger the G43X Rail feature a compact Slimline frame with a slim mounting rail and a black slide with nDLC finish as well as a 10-round magazine capacity making it ideal for concealed carry.
The G43X Rail has the same compact-size grip length with a minimal profile and a built-in beaver tail as the G48 for a comfortably balanced, versatile grip that’s ideal for a variety of users.
The frame features the GLOCK Mounting rail slim for mounting tactical accessories and incorporates elements of the Slimline series such the short trigger distance, a frame with a built-in beavertail, a reversible magazine catch and the incredibly accurate, match-grade GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB) of the Gen5 series. The G43X Rail also feature precision-milled front serrations.
The slim (01) magazine is built in reliable GLOCK style and has an orange magazine follower for higher visibility. This magazine was specifically developed to ensure the surprisingly high 10 rds magazine capacity of both.
Engineered with the GLOCK perfection promise, this Slimline pistol model features the Safe Action® System and will soon be available as a combo version with specific tactical light.
