POTD: Estonian Army Galil in Iraqi Freedom

    Photo Of The Day – time to go back in time to Operation Iraqi Freedom, where we look at an Estonian Soldier with a Galil SAR in 5.56×45 mm.

    The Estonian Defence Forces plan to replace the Galil, and LMT Defense won the order as reported by TFB in LMT Defense Announces Award with Estonian DefenceĀ Forces and Lewis Machine & Tool Rifles Win Estonian RifleĀ Trials.

    Estonian Army Corporal (CPL) Roman Metsatalu, assigned to the Scouts Battalion, Estonian Defense Forces, Estonian Peacekeeping Center, holds his position armed with a Vektor R6 5.56mm compact assault rifle while awaiting orders to move out on a foot patrol in Western Baghdad, Iraq.

    Estonian Army Soldiers are working with US Army (USA) Soldiers from 10th Mountain Division, as part of the Multi-National Corps to secure a 15-kilometer section of road in Western Baghdad, during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
