Featured Deals of the Week – 5/17/19
Welcome back to another Featured Deals of The Week. I’m your host Benjamin, and as always please leave a comment if you want to see more or less of any certain type of deals.
Yes, it’s the SIG P365. And I’m sure that someone is about to start typing “but what about the strikers!” Do not listen to that someone. As James Reeves wrote about here striker issue has been resolved. So, what gives with the actual handgun? It’s all of the current hotness for concealed carry in one package. Forward slide serrations, 9mm, 10-round magazine, night sights. What’s not to love?
Why it’s a good deal:It’s being sold for well below market rates. Honestly, that’s about it. What more is there really to say on the subject? This is listed at $450 if you get an email quote, which is generally LE prices. You can find P365s for less than $500, but almost always restricted to LE only. Usually, for civilian sales the price is between $500 and $550, making this a pretty good deal.
Alright, this isn’t going to win any beauty awards. And you’re not going to be able to post it to r/AR-15 and say “look at my Mk18 build!!!” like all the other kids. But, if you’re looking for a “learn to build an AR” kit, this is the one for you. It is absolutely standard in every way except aesthetics. It has a 16″ barrel, a chamber that you can get in either 223 Wylde or 5.56 (although I don’t know why you’d get 5.56 if you can get 223 Wylde), an A2 muzzle break, an 0.750 gas block, and a nitrided BCG. All you need is a stripped lower, and you’ve got a rifle.
Why it’s a good deal:Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. We are in the age of the sub-$300 AR. Just take a minute and feel that freedom flow through you. Put a $36.99 Anderson stripped lower and some $22.26 cheapo BUIS on this thing and you’ve got yourself a genuine sub-$300 AR-15.
The Vortex StrikeFire II. This is a pretty nifty low-tier or beginner red dot. You’re not going to get the reliability of say, an ACOG, but unless you’re buying an optic to go to war with, this will suit you fine. If you are buying an optic to go to war with, I advise saving up for the ACOG. The StrikeFire II has 10 intensity levels for the dot, which can be set to either red or green. The chassis is water and fog proof for those of you who plan on dropping your rifle into the river.
Why it’s a good deal:I feel like I could make a copy/paste message for these “why it’s a good deal” bits. It’s on sale. For less than market. Generally speaking, these StrikeFire IIs go for somewhere in the neighborhood of $180, but with the code “STRIKEFIRE” you get $60 off.
Everybody’s favorite budget brand of ammo. Wolf steel-case. If you, like me, need cheap range ammo more than you need quality range ammo, look no further. A lot of high-quality ARs hate this stuff. But if you, like me, have budget options for guns, this is where it’s at. It will go bang when you pull the trigger.
Why it’s a good deal:Because it’s $0.18cpr, a little more after S&H. You can keep your AR fed for a range trip or three on 1,000 rounds, and you can now do it for less than $200. This is not the ammo you want to buy if you reload, because it’s a steel case. This is not the ammo you want to buy if you have a really nice AR, because your rifle won’t like it. But if you want dirt cheap range ammo for your budget AR? This is the deal for you.

Always appreciate the curation of good deals, so this isn't me ragging on you for that. That said--
As a former RSO who was constantly having to mortar awful ARs and otherwise troubleshoot for their tightwad, smoothbrained owners (who doubtless went on to say "jUsT As gOoD!" in discussions across the internet after they got back home)... please don't encourage the proliferation of sh*t-tier ARs.
There are plenty of solid affordable ARs... but not these <$300 "bUiLt nOt BoUgHt, BRUTHER" specials.
