Single-Shot Shotgun – Rossi introduces Tuffy

A single-shot shotgun? Yes, you read that right. In a world of fully- and semi-automatic and even pump and side-by-side shotguns is there really a place for a single-shot scattergun?

Rossi certainly thinks so, and with a recommended price of 172 American Dollars, they may have a point, as the Tuffy is focused for entry-level and first-time shooters. Or someone who wants a dedicated, low-cost truck or trunk gun perhaps?

The action is single-shot with a break-action, in caliber .410.

    Rossi® Introduces the New Tuffy® Single-Shot Shotgun

MIAMI – Rossi®, manufacturer of “traditionally innovative” firearms for 120 years, introduces the new Tuffy® break-action shotgun. Perfect for youth hunting, as a truck gun, or around-the-farm varmint control, the new Tuffy delivers many features that surpass its remarkably low price point.

The Tuffy is built around a single-shot, break-open action, making it an ideal platform for introducing first-time shooters. Both the thumb break and the spurred hammer include aggressive serrations to ensure easy operation for shooters of all sizes.

Offered in a .410 bore with a 3-inch chamber, the Tuffy scores high on ergonomics thanks to a specially-designed polymer stock set and its aggressive texturing. The forend is contoured to provide a slightly angled grip profile that combines with parallel finger grooves for positive hand placement and exceptional muzzle control. The buttstock is a unique pistol grip/thumbhole variant developed for comfortable hand placement and trigger reach.

Integrated into the buttstock is a soft rubber recoil pad and a prominent inlet that accommodates a built-in, four-cartridge shell holder for quick reloading. Pre-installed sling swivel studs makes the Tuffy ready for field action right out of the box.

Available in Black, Gray, OD Green, and Tan buttstock and forend colors, the Tuffy shotgun utilizes a front bead for sight alignment and includes a manual safety. The 18.5-inch barrel and the receiver are constructed of matte black steel for durable performance and a long-lasting finish.
