HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? All American Mossberg Shockwave

Welcome everyone to the ninth edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you missed any one of our other articles, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this a sweet deal or just oozing with an only Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article!

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, found the Rattlecan M1917 Enfield to be straight up Fudd Crap.

As of this moment, the Rattlecan Enfield remains for sale on GunBroker until it finds a savior new owner.

In this week’s edition, we look at what might be the most patriotic shotgun ever created.  As always, this gun is currently up for sale on GunBroker with a starting bid of $750.00 and No Reserve.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP?  All American Mossberg Shockwave

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“I feel like this is a bad prop from one of the Purge movies.” –Matt E.

“50 Shades of America is too much.” –Eric B.

“Murica intensifies. I suddenly just want to throw all my tea in a harbour.” -Matt M.

“American Built.  American Strong. It’s an American shotgun, made in America by Americans, for Americans.  God bless America, USA!” -Rusty S.

They used it as a rod to mix paint and this is the result, right? -Giorgio O.

“And they managed to make the Shockwave worse….I am impressed” –Mike R.

“This gun is so American that every time you shoot it, Hulk Hogan top rope elbow drops a North Korean. [Seriously, I think that’s a kind of prison camp there].” –James Reeves

Selling this All American Mossberg is Maryland Cerakote Gun Works, located in Bel Air Maryland.  Let’s see what they had to say about this freedom inspiring Mossberg shotgun.

This one of a kind Mossberg Shockwave with a “USA Pledge” Themed Cerakote applied is sure to be an eye catcher no matter where you take it. The unfired Shockwave has SB Tactical & Mesa Tactical upgrades. This shotgun is listed for well under cost.

The Cerakote was applied by Maryland Cerakote, a certified applicator of Cerakote. This USA Pledge themed Mossberg was a showpiece or our work and is unfired. The Cerakote work alone would cost $600 with gunsmith fees.

    Mossberg 590 Shockwave #50659, MSRP $455

SB Tactical 590-SBM4 Pistol Stabilizing Brace with Aluminum Pistol Receiver Extension, ERGO Grip & 590 Grip Adapter #590-SBM4, MSRP $199

Mesa Tactical 6-Shell SureShell Carrier with Integrated Pic Rail #93630, MSRP $120

As an American, I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t enjoy a solid “USA! USA! USA!” chant. Then there are other times, where that chant lingers inside your head, and you decide to spend $600 on an All American Cerakote job. If you’re going to build the most American shotgun of all time, it’s go big or go home.

Just a regular red, white, and blue paint job just won’t do. If you haven’t already noticed, this shotgun is not just about sending a message with its paint scheme. Oh no, it is time for you to re-pledge your allegiance.

Don’t worry, this message is not just a fancy showpiece. Clearly, the mad scientist behind this Cerakote job wanted this message to be functional. Things like directional arrows remind you which way to rack the shotgun in order to give them liberty.

It seems fitting to have the “For All” message placed underneath the ejection port. The placement shows a certain dedication to the message. Sadly this particular shotgun is only rated up to 3-inch shells. This is not exactly “All” the shotgun shells, but it is close enough.

Once you’re sent that sweet sweet liberty, you will, of course, need to rack that Mossberg action rearward before justice can take place. Just don’t follow the writing around the shotgun, as you’ll find yourself staring at the business end of the barrel in the process.

From liberty to lead, you’ll certainly have no shortage of it with this shotgun. The Mossberg 590 features a standard capacity of 5+1, with an additional six shells on the side. There are other features like a Hogue grip and SB Tactical brace to aid you in dispensing all that freedom. Let’s just hope this gunsmith kept that Cerakote on hand. Should you decide to add a matching freedom inspiring EOTech shotgun sight.

What do you think of this certified Cerakote creation? Is this All American Mossberg Shockwave a Hot Gat or overly patriotic Fudd Crap? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to cast your vote and let us know if this All American Shockwave is Hot Gat or Fudd Crap:
