While out at the American Suppressor Association’s (ASA) Media Shoot on Thursday, April 25th we were able to catch up with Surefire, and see what they have NEW for silencers for 2019. They had two new silencers: SOCOM300-Ti and SF RYDER 9-Ti2. Both offer subtle, but valuable upgrades from previous models so we definitely got behind some guns and sent some lead down range.

surefire socom300-ti

This silencer is great for rifles and/or carbines in 7.62mm. It is constructed of titanium and walks that delicate line of something that is both light and very durable. This titanium construction extends to the front plate, its baffles, and the silencer’s locking ring so it is as thoroughly light as you could hope for a .30 Cal silencer while maintaining that rigid durability. Some of the other notable characteristics of this silencer can be read below as presented by Surefire:

• Tremendous sound, flash and dust signature reduction; virtually non-existent first-round flash reduces user detection
• Patented, tool-less Fast-Attach design allows quick, easy attachment and removal
• Innovative mounting adapters feature multiple bearing surfaces for tight mating with suppressor and a precise fit
• Tight tolerances and precision bore concentricity result in superior accuracy; all SOCOM300-Ti suppressors are test-fired to verify sub-1 MOA group size and point-of-impact shift
• Durable construction delivers long service life

This silencer is designed, engineered, and manufactured in the US. While shooting it there was very little muzzle rise, and the rifle it was paired with cycled smoothly for every magazine we pumped down range. The only details we do not know at the moment unfortunately is the price. Hopefully that information will be coming soon.

surefire sf ryder 9-ti2

The Surefire SF RYDER 9-Ti2 is essentially a Gen2 or 2nd iteration of their 9mm silencer. The baffles have been re-designed with stainless steel for improved sound mitigation. The tube body and front plate is made of titanium like many of Surefire’s silencers to keep the weight down. Some of the other essential specifications can be read below as presented by Surefire:

• Redesigned baffle interface allows for improved accuracy
• Updated, patent-pending booster assembly allows for accurate suppressor alignment and improved reliability
• Anti-friction-coated booster assembly reduces bearing surface friction for increased performance
• Re-engineered outer tube increases suppressor rigidity
• Included assembly/disassembly tool facilitates baffle removal
• Coated with a high-temperature Cerakote finish
• Quick, secure thread-on attachment to 1/2×28 or M13.5×1 threaded barrels
• Additional pistons sold separately

This silencer, like the Surefire SOCOM300-Ti, does not have retail pricing for the time being, but it should be available soon. While shooting this silencer it was barely noticeable that it was even attached to a Sig Sauer MPX in regards to the weight we felt out front. It was very light and suppressed both standard and sub-sonic loads very well.
