POTD: NATO Saber Strike in Latvia

I can’t get enough of pictures of the flying tank A-10 Thunderbolt, and Today’s Photo shows one which is providing simulated close air support during urban combat training in Skrunde, Latvia.

These pictures were taken during the exercise Saber Strike 18.

Above: Note the grenade launcher on the carbine.

Below: Not sure what this strange shooting position is called, but I guess if you don’t want to expose yourself during CQB in a window.

Below is a video from Saber Strike 18.

U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthogs”, assigned to 107th Fighter Squadron, conduct austere landing training on an old abandoned runway with support from 321st Special Tactics Squadron Combat Controllers, during exercise Saber Strike 18 in Haapsalu, Estonia on June 7, 2018. Film Credits: U.S. Air National Guard Video by Master Sgt. Wolfram M. Stumpf
