It was just a couple months ago I reviewed Bravo Concealment’s BCA OWB 3.0 Gun Holster for a Glock 19. If you read that article I spoke very favorably of the holster because it checked all of the right boxes for me and what I am typically looking for in a good quality holster. Since that review, Bravo Concealment has added extra utility to the OWB BCA 3.0 Gun Holster by providing a paddle attachment option. If you already own that holster you can simply purchase the paddle attachments to give yourself more ways to use the same holster. In this review, we will assess these NEW Paddle Attachments that Bravo Concealment has produced for their OWB BCA 3.0 gun Holster.

As far as the specifications go for the paddle attachments, they are pretty straight-forward. These paddle attachments overall are pretty slim in size; not a lot of bulk to them. I like this a lot because I personally do not use many paddle holsters in fear of the additional bulk and potential for more printing under clothing. Assembly: Bravo Concealment OWB BCA 3.0 Gun Holster with Paddle Attachments

As far as assembly goes for the paddle attachments, all you need is a Phillips screwdriver and you are good to go. You have multiple screws and threaded backers to utilize depending on how high or low you want your holster to sit on your waistline. Your long screws will go through the paddle attachments while the short screws will only be used if you deploy the plastic extensions. The little plastic extensions allow for the holster to sit even lower on your hip if that is what you prefer.

I tried out the little plastic extensions just to see what it felt like on my hip but opted not to use them while carrying. This is merely a matter of preference. I appreciate Bravo Concealment gives consumers the option to choose for themselves. I chose to not use them so the holster would sit higher on my waistline. Then, if the shirt I am wearing on a given day does not hang very low it would hopefully still completely cover the holster and my gun.

If I were leading a more active or physically-demanding day than my retail job requires, I would probably use the little plastic extensions so my gun would sit even lower on my hip. Then, if I am twisting, turning, jumping, moving, and jarring my body it is that much less likely to tip my gun in a precarious way.

Spoiler alert: I never did feel like my gun was going to fall out of this holster for the entirety of the time that I used it. This included me jumping in and out of a semi-truck repeatedly one day to unload a pallet of ammo. Once again, the additional plastic attachments Bravo Concealment gives you are a preference thing as to whether you use them or not.

everyday carry: Bravo Concealment OWB BCA 3.0 Gun Holster with Paddle Attachments

While using this holster over the course of 2 weeks I had a couple different impressions. For one, the overall size of the holster, its bulk (or lack thereof), and potential to print did not increase. When I transitioned my OWB BCA 3.0 Gun Holster from its original belt slide version to the paddle attachments I was very suspect. I thought it would be bulkier, harder to hide, and generally heavier. Basically, I projected all of my negative prior impressions of paddle holsters onto this one. I was thankfully surprised that it was no bigger than the original design.

While I do wear a belt most everyday of the week, I did appreciate the convenience of not needing one all the time in order to carry. Sometimes when I check the mail, do stuff in my yard, or menial tasks around the home I am not wearing a belt so this holster configuration with the paddle attachments is handy for that.

One small negative I noticed with the paddle attachments is when you are crouched the holster gets really tight in your waistline. Probably because the width of the paddle attachments is more than the slightly narrower/slimmer footprint of the belt slide attachments. When I am at my day job working in my family’s gun shop and am stocking shelves I noticed this. While fronting/facing or cutting in new products the holster is very tight if you are crouched over. Your gun is never tippy and the holster is never in any danger of coming out, but you feel it bind a little in your waistline.

Final thoughts: Bravo Concealment OWB BCA 3.0 Gun Holster with Paddle Attachments

From start to finish, I enjoyed using the NEW Paddle Attachments that Bravo Concealment has out for their 3.0 and 2nd Generation holsters. The assembly of them is really easy and I would venture to guess everyone can scrounge up a Phillips screwdriver easily enough. The ability to hide your holster under clothing is just as easy with the paddle attachments as it is with a belt slide backing. The paddle attachments do not inhibit or negatively affect the retention of your gun in any way. Bravo Concealment gives you additional hardware to decide how high or low you want the holster to ride on your waistline.

I did feel when you crouch down that the holster binds in your waistline a little bit, but those are generally uncomfortable positions I do not think any of us would stay in for long anyways. Finally, it is a very affordable addition to your Bravo Concealment holster at an MSRP of $19.89 for a pair of paddle attachments. In sum, I would not hesitate to recommend someone trying these with their Bravo Concealment holster.
