Ruger Custom Shop has released its third firearm and the second 10/22 Competition rifle. The main difference of this rifle from the first Custom Shop 10/22 is the stainless steel barrel and brown laminate stock. Let’s see what other features it comes with.

The Ruger Custom Shop 10/22 Competition rifle features a CNC machined 6061-T6511 aluminum receiver with hard coat anodized finish. The receiver also has a rear cleaning rod hole drilled to allow cleaning the bore from the chamber end. There is also an integral 30 MOA Picatinny rail on top of the receiver. The dual bedding system that has a second bedding lug is designed to ensure a more rigid and secure fixation of the action in the stock.

The cold hammer forged stainless steel barrel of this new rifle has an overall length of 16-1/8″, fluted bull profile, 1:16″ twist rate and 1/2-28 threaded muzzle. The barrels also have proprietary, enhanced chambers which are said to increase the accuracy of this semi-auto rifle without compromising the reliability of the action. The barrels are also free floated. They feature a satin finish with black Cerakote inside the flutes.

As you can see, these rifles come with an adjustment mechanism built into the stock that allows adjusting both the height of the cheek piece and its position on the stock. The bolts of these new rifles are CNC machined and come with a nitrided surface treatment/finish. The rifles also feature match bolt releases. The 2.5-3 lb BX-Trigger is advertised to have a minimal overtravel and positive reset. It comes in a precision-made polymer trigger housing. The overall length of this Ruger Custom Shop rifle is 36″ and it weighs 6 lbs.

Just like the first version of Ruger Custom Shop 10/22 Competition rifle, the new one is also listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $899. It comes in a hard case, with Ruger Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity, challenge coin, cleaning cloth and decal.
