Almost ten years ago I shot a Schmeisser AR15 for the first time, and I recently examined two brand new Schmeisser AR15s. There was no possibility to shoot them, but I found them to be of good quality and design.

At IWA in Germany Schmeisser will be releasing a list of new firearms and products.

In this article, we will focus on the new Straight Pull Rifles. As I compete with Manual Action in IPSC practical shooting this type of firearm is of interest to me, and any new developments must be examined.

In 2018 Schmeisser had some prototypes at IWA, locked in behind glass. These rifles are now ready to be introduced properly and you can see the different variants below. (Unfortunately, I have yet to see them in person at the time of writing).

The price is around 1,900 EUR, approximately 2,100 USD.

About the AR15 models Made by Schmeisser:

All parts and innovations are designed in-house in compliance with our quality requirements. The objective is: THE BEST.

New parts are manufactured in small series and tested. After the tests have been successfully concluded, we commission companies to manufacture these parts exclusively for us in series.

The parts manufactured for us originate pre-dominantly from Germany.Parts also come from European and NATO-certified suppliers.

We as well as the suppliers are certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015.

It is a fact that none of the parts used in our AR15 firearm series comes from China or the United States. “The tolerances, materials and surface finishes used in these countries do not generally satisfy our quality requirements”.
