The SIG Sauer MCX Canebrake Now Shipping

The SIG MCX family keeps growing, and the MCX Rattler Canebrake is the newest addition.

The caliber is 300 BLK, perfect for those that plan on running their MCX as a suppressed firearm.

The Rattler Canebrake comes with pre-installed inert training device, so you can use it out of the box while you wait for the NFA paperwork to be completed. You can then easily convert it to run suppressed, with a proper suppressor.

It’s like a Honey Badger, without the Honey. But you can get the Honey later.

In case you don’t know which suppressor to get for your MCX, SIG left a clue in the fact that the inert training device mimics the size and weight of their SIGSRD762 suppressor.

The MCX Canebrake uses a side-folding brace, so can be used as a pistol variant.

With regards to the faux suppressor TFB’s Pete wrote this in his SHOT 2019 SIG Range Day article:

When I first saw Sig’s announcement of the MCX Canebrake, my first question was, ‘why the faux can?’. But then something clicked and it all made sense. Rather than shooters having to buy an MCX and later on having to buy and swap handguards, Sig ships the entire package ready to rock.

When your stamp clears for your silencer, as suppressor god John Hollister says, ‘take off the fake can and throw it in the garbage’. The Canebrake handguards will be available to existing Rattler owners sometime in the near future.

SIG Sauer made an excellent video with this release. Please make sure you watch it.

At the time of writing this, there was no pricing for the Rattler Canebrake available at the SIG Sauer shop. Last time it took a few days after the original press release for it to show.
