Reptilia Corp’s CQG Grip And DOT Mount

Reptilia Corp was founded by some guys who used to work at Magpul. One of them went onto AXTS and helped them re-brand into Radian Weapons before starting Reptilia Corp. Well now they have started their own company to make the products they wanted to make but were unable to due to logistics and other factors. They have come out with their CQG grip and DOT mount for starters.

The CQG grip is based on the Colt 607. It is designed for short LOP guns and for people who like to run nose to charging handle. The grip has a more vertical grip angle, a high beaver tail as well anti slip front and rear texturing.

The CQG grip is designed for pistol caliber carbines and short pistols or SBRs. If you have tried shooting a braced pistol you will notice they typically have a short LOP. This is due to the ATF deciding that braced firearm cannot  have a LOP longer than 13.5″. Any longer and you get into stock length and now you have illegally made an SBR. This was made apparent in a recent case. Click here to brush up on the latest ATF determinations.

Anyway, shooting a braced pistol from the shoulder has some ergonomic issues. You generally want a more vertical grip angle. The SIG rattler pistol has a unique pistol grip just for this purpose.

Below are some examples of the CQG grip on various firearms.

    DOT Mount

Alongside their CQG grip, Reptilia has come out with a streamlined lower 1/3 cowitness red dot mount.

The DOT Mount by Reptilia is a lightweight, slim-line mounting solution for a variety of red dot optics. Machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum with Milspec Type III hard anodized finish, the DOT Mount attaches to any M1913 Picatinny rail, and offers lower 1/3 co-witness with standard AR15-style back-up sights. Its spring-loaded nitrided steel clamp and mounting bolt simplify the installation process, and sit flush with the body of the mount for a low-profile, anti-snag design.

The DOT mounts are currently available for T1/T2 compatible red dots. Below is a list of compatible optics.

    • Aimpoint – Micro R-1, H-1, H-2, T-1, T-2, CompM5
    • Sig – ROMEO4, ROMEO5
    • Vortex Optics – Sparc I & II
    • Primary Arms – Micro Dot & Advanced Micro Dot
    • Holosun Technologies – HS403

The DOT mount retails for only $95 and the CQG grip is only $19.95. I have been told they will be making a DOT mount for the Aimpoint ACRO and then the Trijicon MRO. Check out their website and social media for updates.
