POTD: Paratroopers in Yellow Assault
Photo Of The Day (POTD) is one or a series of photos related to firearms in some way.
Today’s story brings us to Norfolk and the exercise Yellow Assault, with C Company, 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment.
Below: Notice the muzzle flash from the Machine Gun ( L7A2).
These paratroopers are on the live fire battle camp on the wintry and windswept STANTA training area in Norfolk.
The exercise Yellow Assault focused on the soldier’s core infantry skills of fire and maneuver.
Below: Notice the bayonet.
Below: Note the ejected brass.
The training refreshes and reinforces their ability to work together to assault objectives, starting from individual movement on a firing range to attacks as an eight-man section, then bringing sections together to attack as a platoon.

That is one photogenic training op. Rest easy democracy.
one thing i've been wondering, is why don't regular soldiers wear electronic earmuffs?
