Have you ever been to the shooting range and been forced to modify a firearm?

When the custom trigger on my Vepr Molot 12 gauge shotgun failed me after years of use, it was time to change to a new one. Big competition ahead, no time to waste.

The ideal would have been to go home – or to a gunsmith – where the possibilities to do a perfect job would have been far better. Due to time constraints, we had to do an urgent-at-the-range-upgrade. At least it wasn’t raining.

The new trigger from ALG Defense was already in the back-up, but it had to be modified Russian style.

Luckily we have some battery powered tools at the range, so it was time to get the grinder up to full speed.

Below you can see the poor hammer being grinded to fit, held in place by a Victor Inox. Be sure to wear safety glasses when doing this, no exceptions!

After a few modifications, the ALG Defense AK47 trigger fit right down the Molot receiver, and we could continue practicing shooting clays and steel.
