Flux Defense has just released information on their Flux Brace for the Glock 17 and other full sized 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 Sig models from Glock. The brace is collapsible and is designed to only add 1.5 inches of length to the Glock it’s attached to. The brace is also spring loaded and activated by a lever on the right side of the brace that is within easy reach of the trigger finger.

The promotional video shows the operation of the Flux Brace. Flux Defense have also designed a holster that accommodates brace’s rails when not extended. When collapsed, the rails sit alongside the pistol’s frame, but don’t extend past the muzzle. They also appear to not be flush against the frame so as not to impede weapon mounted lights or lasers, as is demonstrated at 1:30 in the video. They also demonstrate how quickly the Flux Brace can be actuated and brought into action from concealment.

The instructional video shows how easily and quickly the Flux Brace can be installed. However, it does have limitations. Flux Defense is currently only offering their brace for the Gen 4 and 5 models, including 17, 17L, 22, 31, 34, 35. They also advise not to use +P or +P+ ammunition. The video also states that it is intended to stabilize against the shooter’s cheek and is not meant for shouldering as it would bring the reciprocating slide too close to the shooter’s eyes and face. It is also designed to act as an arm stabilizing brace. The brace utilizes Glock’s trigger group take-down pin hole to attach the brace to the pistol by providing a slightly longer pin than the factory pin.
