[SHOT 2019] Zero Compromise Optic

Zero Compromise Optic as a company is brand new to optics world, their owner and employees, however, are not.   With lineage from both Nightforce and Kahles, the minds behind Zcomp have a lot of real-world experience.  When I released one of their first product videos last year it had over 15,000 views in the first 48 hours, so obviously the precision rifle community had room in their minds for one more scope manufacturer, especially one that vowed not to cut any corners.  Now, one year later Zero Compromise has 2 products ready for market, the ZC527 and the ZC420.

    Specifications:

If you take a look at the tables above a few things should stand out.  First, the 36mm main tube.  Second, 35mm of elevation travel, and last 34.8 and 37.9 ounces respectively (that is very light for a scope of this type.)

    36MM Really?

Yes really.  Just like the name states, compromise was not an option when designing and manufacturing this scope.  Here is what they have to say about the 36mm tube on their website:

Our 36mm main tube allows us to deliver major performance gains both optically and mechanically. Historically, one of these systems is compromised in favor of the other.  This compromise is non-existent in ZCO rifle scopes.  Larger internal lens elements in critical positions yield the highest level of optical and mechanical performance in the industry.  An incredible 35 mils of usable elevation and 20 mils of windage adjustment is available while maintaining consistent click value and reticle subtension.

The 36mm main tube allows additional internal room to isolate and protect the optical components to withstand external distortion, stress, and impacts. This results in the most stable and consistent optical and mechanical performance to maintain point of impact under a wide variety of environmental extremes. Our design is also stronger in critical junctions and mechanical areas due to a thicker cross section in specific areas.

An additional benefit to the company is the fact that there are currently no substandard 36mm rings on the market, which ensures the end-user will purchase quality rings to use with their quality scope.

The quality 36mm rings that are currently available

Notice 15mils per revolution and over 30mils of total travel.

    Top quality components

ZCO uses European Schott glass for all of their lenses.  Schott is regarded as the best in the world.  Even with the reputation that comes with the glass Zcomp still QCs every piece they use.  The quest for perfection didn’t stop with the lenses.  ZCO even created a proprietary spline system for their turrets which when combined with the hardened steel assemblies will provide for an extended service life.

instead of brass or aluminum Zero Compromise Optics went with hardened steel for their spline mechanisms

    Reticle Options

ZCO has provided 2 reticle options.

MPCT1 (no wind holdoffs below the horizontal stadia)

    MPCT2 (Wind holdoffs every Mil.)
