[SHOT 2019] Lyman New Products

Here at Shot Show, I made it a point to drop in on our friends at Lyman. They have long been a big supporter of TFB so, I had to go see what they had brought out. I found some pretty cool stuff being introduced this year. Let’s take a look:

    BRASS SMITH CASE TRIM XPRESS

The multi-speed case trimmer can trim up to 15 cases a minute. Utilizing a bushing that braces against the shoulder of the brass you merely push the brass in and it is trimmed to correct length. Case length adjustments can be made in .001″ increments.

    StrikerCaps

Being a strong proponent of dry firing I was happy to see these. Like dry firing but dislike the Snap caps ejecting when you rack the slide? Here you go! StrikerCaps are rimless and have a rubber O ring which centers the snap cap and holds it in place. It absorbs the striker hit and allows you to rack the slide without it being ejected. They are easily removed with a dowl or cleaning rod. They are available now in .380, 9mm, .40s&w as well as .45 ACP.

    Pachmayr GuardianGrip

The GuardianGrip allows a compact two fingered revolver to be extended to a three finger grip by a simple press of a button. The switchblade of grip extensions. An aftermarket that allows a better hand weld on a pistol is worth trying out. I never feel comfortable firing a pistol with my pinky left hanging. A bigger grip without losing concealability.

A standard 2 finger grip when drawn from concealment

A light depression on the button drops the extension and you now have a three finger grip

    Lyman Universal Press Stand

This heavy-duty stand mounts on your bench and lifts your press 9 1/4 inches above your bench, thereby saving your back and general fatigue. Also raising your workspace into better view. Allowing you to keep the loading process in better view. It comes with 2 different mounting plates that allow mounting of all major brand presses

A heavy build, raising your work into a better view

    Mike R

Mike spent his entire adult life riding an ambulance throughout the Southwest US. He found humor in long in-depth philosophical conversations with crack heads and other urban street survivalists.

His highest point was being invited to instruct for some “special” medics in the military. He spent almost 10 years there. A 30 year gun enthusiast, he started down the path of reloading to keep up with his desperate need of more ammo. Reloading is like medicine, you never stop learning.

He can generally be found at the local range picking the brains of the old timer, looking for brass, and banging away at gongs. He reloads everything from .32 to .45, .223 to 7 rem mag.
