[SHOT 2019] Norma Presents Bond Strike Extreme Ammunition and new 9mm rounds

Anyone who is interested in long-range and precision shooting probably knows about Norma. Swedish company, it was founded in 1902 by Enger brothers from Oslo, Norway, who had founded Norma Projektilfabrik A/S in Norway a few years earlier. Norma is world famous for their high quality hinting ammunition. At the 2019 Shot Show Norma presented its new hunting round – Bond strike extreme.

It was designed for extreme long range big game hunting and according to the manufacturer, delivers match grade accuracy and reliable expansion of the bullet both at close and long range.

Bond strike extreme has a bonded core bullet with a polymer tip. This design prevent separation of the jacket from the core and simply keeps the bullet together after the impact, allowing it to properly expand and achieve sufficient penetration. Here is some amazing capability demonstration on ballistic gelatine:

Bond strike extreme comes in the following calibers:

    • 308 Win 180gr
    • .30-06 180gr
    • .300 Win Mag 180gr
    • .300 WSM 180gr
    • .300 RUM 180g

The round should be available in the early 2019.

Another news from Norma are three new brands of handgun ammo, first being Hexagon. It comes in 9 mm, 357 Sig and 45 ACP. Unique bullet design with six stabilizing grooves and aerodynamic shape improves accuracy – manufacturer claims that this round will deliver 1 inch groups at 25 meters.
