One of the benefits of the AR15 rifle is how easy it is to operate. Of course, I know this firearm better than any so it’s easy to say.
But I also teach total beginners on the AR15, and can see how fast they learn the controls. The positives is that you can focus on the sights, rather than looking at the controls, until you get a malfunction of some kind that you visually have to examine.
If I switch to one of my hunting rifles I always (Ok, most of the time) have to let go of the grip to maneuver the safety or the magazine release (if there is one). The ergonomics work, but there’s room for improvement.
Night Fision are releasing a new tritium safety, to make it easier to visually check the condition of your rifle in the darkness. Below you can read their description:

The design of the safety is a quarter-turn lock design. There are no other pictures available, and no further description at this time, but it seems that the safety is not ambidextrous (see top picture).

My understanding is that Night Fision created this product for the AR15 after several customer requests.
It makes me wonder if anyone requested a tritium magazine release button, or a glowing trigger?

I think it would be cool if it turned red when the safety is off, but I don’t see how that would be possible with Tritium technology.
