Christensen’s new Traverse, weighing 7.3-7.7lbs and $2395 MSRP, if their new rifle for 2019.  Featuring a Monte Carlo carbon fiber stock, a muzzle brake, top rail, and 6 o’clock picatinny rail, this rifle is good to go with no further upgrades needed.

If one is interested in Christensen Arms’ Sub-MOA shooter, the “Modern Precision Rifle” or MPR and one prefers guns of FDE persuasion, rejoice.  The MPR is now available with the chassis and folding stock in “Desert Brown”.  The receiver and handguard, however, retains their respective black nitride and carbon fibre guise.  Additionally for 2019, the MPR will add the chambering of .223 in its short action models, joining the already offered 6.5PRC, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .308.

Also new for 2019 is the offering of Burnt Bronze Cerakote colored receivers in Christensen’s “Ridgeline” bolt action rifles.

Gunnison, UT – (January 7, 2019)

New for 2019, Christensen Arms has expanded the Modern Precision Rifle color options to include a Desert Brown™ anodized chassis.  The new color offers customers an alternative to the standard black hardcoat anodize, while retaining the durability of the anodize finish.

 

Additionally, the Modern Precision Rifle is now available chambered in .223 Rem. with both 16” and 20” barrel lengths offered.  The .223 Rem. model uses a standard short-action receiver and includes an AICS®-Compatible 10-round polymer magazine.

 

The Modern Precision rifle is an ultra-lightweight chassis rifle designed to break with tradition. Beyond the folding stock the complete package is well equipped with a target-contour Christensen Arms carbon fiber barrel, carbon fiber comb, free-floating carbon fiber handguard, and 20 MOA rail. The MPR certainly is a feature-rich rifle for its price (Approximately $2,295 MSRP depending on selected options for the short actions).  The new .223 chambering might be nice for dedicated predator hunters and shooters who might only shoot out to 800-1000 yards, and more color options are always a good thing for consumers.  My personal hope is that a .224 Valkyrie chambered MPR is not far off in the future, as well as receivers Cerakoted to match the chassis color.
