Dark Storm Industries (DSI) attended SHOT Show’s “Industry Day at the Range,” and they brought along some new goodies for the shooting world to see! They unveiled 3 new AR patterned rifles and pistols in total covering a pretty wide gamut of the caliber spectrum. Let’s take a quick look at each new offering they have for all of us.

dark storm industries (DSI) DS-15 hurricane .224 valkyrie Rifle

The DS-15 Hurricane .224 Valkyrie rifle is pictured in the cover photo above. With this rifle, DSI chose to utilize a 20″ HBAR 416 Stainless Steel barrel coupled with an SS Competition Compensator that makes a huge difference in mitigating recoil. A unique expansion chamber is built into the brake to keep the shooter on target to easily see hits in your optic. Those components paired with a Magpul PRS stock, billet receiver, 3 Lbs trigger, and nickel boron coated bolt-carrier group (BCG) make for a smooth, accurate rifle. The MSRP for this new .224 Valkyrie is $1,899.

The DS-15 Typhoon 5.56 NATO pistol shares similar qualities to its larger rifle brothers. It features an M-LOK forearm, billet lower, ambidextrous controls, and a Hogue Overmolded Grip. Some traits unique to the DS-15 Typhoon pistol are the mil-spec trigger, mil-spec BCG, 4140 Nitride CQB Compensator, and SB Tactical Pistol Brace. The MSRP for this AR-15 pistol is north of $1,000, but not solidified yet.

Even though this rifle touts the larger .458 Socom cartridge, it is very manageable to shoot at distance. Similar to the DS-15 Hurricane in .224 Valkyrie, the DS-15 Lightning has a stainless HBAR barrel (16″ length), SS Competition Compensator, Nickel Boron BCG, ambidextrous controls, M-LOK forearm, and a Hogue grip. Some characteristics specific to the DS-15 Lightning .458 Socom are a Magpul CTR Adjustable Stock and a 4 Lbs trigger. This new rifle is currently benchmarked at $1,595.

So what do you think of the 3 new rifles from Dark Storm Industries (DSI)? Are you feeling in the need of a new .458 Socom or .224 Valkyrie firearm in your life? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

"New" AR... kinda like watching TV for that "brand new rerun."

I know folks will get on me for this, but come on... AR's are practically an open license these days and folks turning out "new" AR's have about as much innovation to them as coupling old reruns of Gunsmoke with brand new Geico commercials.

Oh boy, someone put their sticker on someone else's forgings and put them together.

An uneducated man can put together an AR from someone else's parts in his mom's basement. This isn't interesting.
