New Steiner DRS 1X (Defendu Reflex Sight)

Steiner USA will have a new Reflex Sight available early 2019 called the DRS 1X (Defendu Reflex Sight).

As reflex sights in general it is focused for targets at close range, but with a small 2 MOA dot in the middle you should be able to engage targets into the medium range as well.

The name Defendu comes from Close Quarters Combat System, where the basic principle is “to end a confrontation as quickly as possible using “ungentlemanly” means by rapidly attacking vital spot area…” Source: Wikipedia.

From Steiner USA’s description:

The DRS (Defendu Reflex Sight) is so versatile and effective at close range, we’ve named it after the famed Lt. Colonel William Ewart Fairbaim, whose Close Quarters Combat system was designed to rapidly disable an opponent with potentially lethal force.

Perfect for tactical operations or home defense, the 1x reflex sight offers three reticles calibrated for speed and accuracy at 7, 25 and 50 yards.

The ultimate CQB sight, it is built with legendary Steiner’s legendary ruggedness. Lightweight, compact and simple to use.

Below: Larger than a few other reflex sights on the market, but in a very rugged design.

The window size is .96 high x 1.26 inches wide.

The overall height is 2.57 in., and sits 2.35 in. above the rail.

You can configure the Steiner C2 reticle into three options (shown in the picture below).

The different reticles are:

a. Singe dot (2 MOA)
b. Dot and stadia lines
c. Dot, stadia lines and close dot

The illumination comes in 7 different levels. 4 settings for daylight (7,6,5,4) and 3 for night (3,2,1).
There is an auto brightness as well as a manual control.

Below: This is actually pretty useful for a reflex sight. With just 1x magnification you won’t get the same possibilities as high-end scopes with MIL (or MOA) reticles to measure the size of your target(s), but

2000 hours on 2 AA batteries? They have a long way to go to catch up to Trijicon, Aimpoint and even Ultra Dot.

@Todd And everything OEM'd from Holosun. Good point. I wonder if this is a laser based holographic sight like an EOTech or Vortex Huey instead of LED Based like the others.
