“Hear the Truth About Suppressors” presented by the NSSF

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is a tremendous steward and champion of the shooting sports. Their work occurs through innumerable events throughout the US in educating people about firearms, but they also do smaller works as well. Some of those are simple infographics that can catch fire on social media and sometimes be even more valuable to the promotion and betterment of our cause. One simple yet highly effective one recently was about suppressors or silencers.

There are a lot of smoke, mirrors, myths, and lies surrounding silencers. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who are not afforded the opportunity to see silencers live in-action, in-person. The only knowledge they have of them is through falsely perpetuated imagery and cinema from Hollywood. This can make them appear to be ultra-cool, but simultaneously, very dangerous, and just generally portrayed incorrectly. That is where the NSSF jumps in with some knowledge bombs!

The NSSF released the following statement regarding their educational infographic for the masses on silencers:

In this all-new infographic, the National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) provides the history, specifications, benefits and uses of firearm suppressors. Don’t suppress your knowledge! Review the information within this infographic, head to the range to hear the real difference and share this post so your friends know the truth about suppressors.

They go by many names… silencers… suppressors… cans… mufflers… but regardless what name you attach to them, it is important that you understand the purpose they serve. Like many things, they are simply a tool (a wicked cool and fun tool, but I digress). So what do you guys and gals think? What do you think is the biggest misconception, lie, or falsehood that people get wrong about silencers? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
