Stout Power & Smooth Handling: NEW Walther CCP M2 .380 ACP
Walther Arms recently improved upon their popular CCP pistol by making a 2nd iteration with the CCP M2. With an easier disassembly process and smooth handling, the Walther CCP M2 has garnered a lot of love from concealed carry advocates and range enthusiasts. Now leading into SHOT Show for 2019, the internet has shown us something new once again: the Walther CCP M2 .380 ACP!
Like the name plainly states, they are now chambering their CCP M2 in the .380 ACP cartridge for people who may prefer the softer recoil of that round. Right now there are two online retailers listing the firearm for sale (with none in stock or available to purchase at this time).
Walther has not made a formal announcement of this firearm yet so it is unsure if this is something we will see at SHOT Show or sometime thereafter. Also, there is no data or listing for the Walther CCP M2 .380 ACP on Walther’s website. It appears to be built off of the exact same frame as its 9mm counterpart though. So the specs should look something loosely like this:
- Action: Semi-Automatic, Striker Fired
- Barrel Length: 3.54″
- Trigger Pull: 5 1/2 Lbs.
- Frame/Material: Polymer
- Finish/Color: Black
- Grips/Stock: Plastic
- Capacity: 8 Round
The suggested MSRP according to some distributors who are cataloging the Walther CCP M2 .380 ACP already is $469. That places this iteration of the CCP M2 right in line with the 9mm offerings currently out in circulation. An early Tech sheet gives a lot more detail into the finer ins and outs of the CCP M2 .380 ACP which can be read below:
So far it appears that Walther has just two offerings of the CCP M2 .380 ACP planned with a Black and Bi-Tone finish. That could easily become 3 offerings if they decide to outfit one with a Viridian Laser from the factory as well. With extremely early internet pricing fluttering around $386 – $438 is this a pistol you would entertain buying for concealed carry or use at the range? Do you think it could suit somebody else in your family for those same purposes? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate feedback.

8+1 capacity is disappointing...10+1 would be a winner.
Sig got 10+1 in a smaller 9mm. Look forward to someone doing the same in 380acp...other than the mythical SCCY 380.
I'm a huge Walther fan. Indeed, I've been carrying a P99c AS since 2009 and have a slew of their other products. But . . . the Walther CCP is still just a misbranded Umarex pistol, made in Arsberg and now proofed in Ulm so as to enhance the impression it came from Walther.
So, uh, nope. If I buy the wife something along these lines, it'll be the S&W M&P380 Shield EZ instead.
