L3 Technologies, parent company of EOTECH, has confirmed they have been awarded a $26.3 million contract to supplied the latest version of their EOTECH holographic weapon sight and G33 magnifier to USSOCOM. The five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract will see an unspecified number of optics and magnifiers manufactured at EOTECH’s plant in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Department of Defense actually announced the award back on Sept. 20, 2018:

L-3 Communications EOTech Inc., Ann Arbor, Michigan, is awarded a $23,637,320 firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for the procurement of Miniature Aiming System – Day Optics close quarter combat sights and clip-on magnifiers in support of U.S. Special Operations Command.  Work will be performed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is expected to be completed by September 2028.  Fiscal 2018 procurement (Defense-wide) funding in the amount of $308,570 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured pursuant of 10 U.S. Code 2304(a). This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with four offers received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity (N00164-18-D-JQ26)

The selection mirrors a similar set up recently adopted by the German KSK, around the same time. Germany selected the EOTECH EXPS3-0 and G33 Magnifier for their new G95K (Heckler & Koch 416A7). Incidentally, this set up was tested by members of the Germany Army at the US Army’s Yuma Proving Ground in August 2018.

Under this five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract (with five option years), EOTECH will deliver an updated model of its holographic weapon sight and the G33 clip-on magnifier. All work will be performed at EOTECH‘s headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
