MatchPoint USA EdgeMatch Inverted Glock Sights

Apparently, these iron sights are not a new product and looks like they’ve been around for at least a couple of years. Nevertheless, we haven’t yet talked about them here on TFB and I bet many of you haven’t heard about EdgeMatch inverted iron sights made by MatchPoint USA. So, let’s take a quick look at these Glock sights that resemble the full buckhorn sights on your grandpa’s lever action rifle.

The idea behind this concept is to provide a sight picture that consists of three “arrows” pointing to the center of the sight picture thus theoretically making it a more precise iron sight system. Another feature of this design is that it doesn’t obscure the target as much as standard pistol sights do. According to MatchPoint USA, the EdgeMatch sights provide a 270-degree field of view.  Here is how the company explains the advantages of these sights and sight picture:

    INVERTED OPEN SIGHTS

Our revolutionary design provides advancement in two key areas:

    1. See the target. Our open design prioritizes your view of the target over your view of the sight picture. Which is more important for you to see when it really counts? Do you want to see the target or your sights? While we think our sight is attractive, we hope you are not wasting any time admiring its profile when you need confidence, accuracy, and speed facing an immediate threat or firing situation.

    2. Confident precision and accuracy. Quickly and easily align your weapon with the target. No guesswork. No trial and error. Much like a scope reticle, simply align points on our sight to your target, and you have aligned the weapon to windage and elevation without question.

Currently, there are two versions of the EdgeMatch sight – Precision Sight and Speed Sight. As seen in the below-embedded image, the Precision Sight has finer points on the horns of the rear sight as well as a thinner front sight blade. The Speed Sight has a bit blunt edges which are probably designed to aid in quick target acquisition at a cost of sacrificing the precision a little bit.

Both versions of the MatchPoint USA EdgeMatch sights are listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $99.95. The price gradually decreases with the number of ordered sights.

The EdgeMatch sights come with the hardware necessary for installation

These iron sights would definitely feel a bit weird at first, but maybe it will just require some time to get used to them. It is quite hard to make an opinion without using and testing them. If you have experience of using these sights, share your thoughts in the comments section.
