Earlier this year, Leapers, Inc. introduced the UTG Recon Flex Bipod, which consists of two separate legs that are mounted to each side of a rifle that has either Keymod or M-lok mounting points. The legs can be adjusted from 8 to 11.8 inches and can also be adjusted at five different angles within 180 degrees. They also have a 5.7 to 8 inch set as well.

The picture below states that the Recon Flex Bipod attaches directly to the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. I couldn’t find any reason given why the 1 and 11 o’clock positions couldn’t be used if you have the appropriate slots available. Using the 1 and 11 o’clock slots seems like it would bring the bipod up out of the way of the handguard more when not in use, however it would also decrease the overall height capability of the bipod. I contacted Leapers, Inc. and inquired about this to check if such mounting would damage the bipod, or potentially the handguard rail. Leapers informed me that the bipod could be mounted in any position, but the 3 and 9 o’clock positions were what the geometry of the bipod was calibrated for. Leapers also said that it wouldn’t damage the bipod and shouldn’t damage a handguard, but it could produce an awkward positioning of your firearm.

Kyle Broderick of The Social Regressive YouTube channel posted a good, in-depth review of the UTG Recon Flex Bipod. One of the things Kyle discusses is how stable the bipod is, which he found helpful when shooting at just one target. However, the lack of movement the bipod allows can be difficult when shooting at multiple targets at closer distances.
