    Weekly Deals Roundup

This week’s deals include the Ruger LCR-X, the Testudo plate carrier and plates, Federal Guard Dog 9mm, a whole mess of S&W magazines, and more ammunition than you can shake a stick at.

Ruger LCR-x in 38 special Double action revolver – $339.99

    What the deal is:

Sportsman’s Outdoor Superstore is selling the Ruger LCR-X in 38 Special +P. This is a light-weight (13.5 oz) small-frame 5 shot revolver perfect for deep carry. It is a double action revolver, but it has an external hammer that allows for manual cocking and single-action shooting. The barrel measures 1.875″, and from tip to tail the revolver is 6.5″ long and 4.5″ high.

    Why it’s a good deal:

Sportsman’s is selling this revolver for $339.99, about $60 less than street price of these, which usually go for $400 but I’ve seen them for as much as $450. If you’re hunting for the best possible price it might be worth waiting to see if the price for these will drop as low as $300, but this is still a solid deal.

testudo plate carrier gen2 with plates and inserts – $165.78

    Image Provided by AR500 Armor

    What the deal is:

The Testudo Plate Carrier is the larger version of AR500’s Veritas modular plate carrier. It is capable of carrying 10″x12″ plates or larger 11″x14″ plates, and has fully adjustable straps for medium to large body sizes. Because AR500 has used 500D Cordura nylon for the construction, as well as 3D mesh, the Testudo is a solid yet breathable carrier. The deal also includes two adaptive plate inserts to further increase adaptability of your armor choice, as well as two level III+ speed plates. Level III+ are capable of stopping rounds up to and including black tip armor-piercing 7.62×51 NATO.

    Why it’s a good deal:

AR500 is one of the most widely recognized and acclaimed retail armor manufacturers, and this is a heavily discounted bundle from them. Originally priced at $307, it is on sale for 46% off at $165.78, savings of $140.

Federal Premium guard dog 9mm ammo 20 rounds – $18.28

Image Provided by Natchez Shooters Supplies

    What the deal is:

Natchez is selling some Federal Guard Dog home defense ammunition in boxes of 20. Guard Dog ammunition has an expanding poylmer which causes the round to deform and expand on contact, without running the risk of a hollow-point filling up with barrier materials like heavy clothing. The rounds have a muzzle velocity of 1230 FPS, and are 105gr in weight.

    Why it’s a good deal:

First, because it’s on sale. These boxes were originally priced at $25.99, and are currently 30% off at $18.28. Further, they’re being sold below street price. Boxes of Federal Guard Dog 9mm can usually be found for around $25-$30 per box at most online retailers, though I have seen boxes for as low as $20.

gunmag warehouse s&w sale – up to 50% off

    Image Provided by GunMag Warehouse

    What the deal is:

GunMag warehouse is offering all Smith & Wesson magazines on sale. While most are 29-31% off (including just as examples the SD9 9mm 10-round magazine, the M&P 9mm 15-round magazine, and the M&P .40S&W magazine) there are some on sale for as much as 50% off. The S&W Bodyguard 380 ACP 6-round magazine is 50% off, and the M&P10 308/7.62×51 5-round magazine is 43% off, just to name a couple.

    Why it’s a good deal:

It’s cheap magazines guys, doesn’t get better than this (except for those sweet sweet G3 mags).

    Federal lake city xm855 12,500 rounds – $3,900

    Image Provided by Brownells

    What the deal is:

That’s not a typo, this really is a big barrel of 12,500 rounds of 5.56×45 ammunition. I admit, this mostly made the list for the humor factor. It’s pretty standard ammunition, just in (extra) bulk. The drum itself has a seal at the top to prevent moisture from getting in, and inside is enough ammunition for one or two quick trips to the range. It’s all 62 grain SS109 green-tip steel core penetrator FMJ rounds.

    Why it’s a good deal:

Well if you’re shelling out $3,900 for ammunition you’re probably buying top of the line stuff, not XM855. That said, if you’re planning on stocking your bunker for The End Of The World As We Know It (TEOTWAWKI as it’s sometimes referred to), or have just ever wanted to own over 110 pounds of just bullets (62 grains x 12500 = ~110.7 pounds), much less in brass and powder, this is your chance.
