Firearms Related Music – Part I

Music – a big part of a lot of people’s lives.

Play it in the background when driving, commuting or on the headphones while working out or just on a short walk.

Because this is the The Firearm Blog we’re going to look and listen at music which is in some way or another related to shooting or firearms.

I’m pretty much an all-eater when it comes to music and I am aware that people’s taste is different.

I do realize that some of this music might be pro-gun or anti-gun (or just gangster) depending on how you interpret the lyrics, but the common factor here is that there is some kind of shooting or firearms related in the music.

I know YouTube sometimes can play tricks with some music videos not being available in certain regions, but I hope these links will work for you. All the links below were verified at the time of posting. Otherwise you can just search for the band and song name on Google for instance.

Listen to it at home, on the way to the shooting range:

Shoot High Aim Low – by Yes

    Shoot high break low
    Aim high shoot low
    Break high let go
    Shoot high aim low

    Highwayman – by The highwaymen

    I was a highwayman
Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade

No list like this is complete without a song from Steve Lee.

I Like Guns – Steve Lee

    I like guns
    I really like .22 Mag
    .45 lever with Winchester tag
I like my double barrel, had it most of my life
.357 was present from my wife
I like guns I like the way they look
I like the shining steel and the polished wood
I don’t care if they’re big or small
If they’re for sale – hell I wanna them all

Of coure we have the Gangster take on it, from Cypress Hill.

Cypress Hill – Hand on the Glock

‘Cuz I put away the shotgun
    Borrow me a Glock

Tracy Chapman – Bang Bang Bang

    What you go and do
You go and give the boy a gun
Now there ain’t no place to run to
    Ain’t no place to run

After shooting, this song is pretty nice.

Cleaning My Gun by Mark Knopfler.

“Cleaning My Gun” from Mark’s sixth solo album “Get Lucky”, released in 2009.

Don’t take your guns to town – Johnny Cash  (The Man In Black)

And his mother cried as he walked out “Don’t take your guns to town son, Leave your guns at home Bill. Don’t take your guns to town” He laughed and kissed his mom And said, “Your Billy Joe’s a man And I can shoot as quick and straight As anybody can But I wouldn’t shoot without a cause I’d gun nobody down”

And below the Electro-Industrial / Body side of music, a personal favorite from Canada.

Gun – Front Line Assembly (Tactical Neural Implant)

In the next part we’ll be looking at more firearms related music. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten AC/DC from down under!

Did we forget your favorite song? Let us know and we might include it in the upcoming articles.
