Magpul CZ Scorpion Grip And Mag Release Leaked

    Magpul CZ Scorpion Grip

The CZ Scorpion Evo 3 has enraptured PCC shooters. Its low-cost fun has led to a whole host of upgrades and accessories. Early on, the only people making upgrades to the CZ Scorpion were smaller companies like Yeti Wurks, HB Industries, and Manticore Arms. A week before Black Friday, some members of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 Enthusiast Facebook group discovered some items posted on Magpul’s website. Is appears a Magpul CZ Scorpion Grip and mag release will be available soon.

If you go to Magpul’s website now, they are no longer listed. But we have screen caps people took. In the photo above you can see the brass threaded insert. For those not familiar with the CZ Scorpion grip, it slides foward on rails molded into the lower receiver. It is held in place with a bolt screwed into the side. From the photo briefly posted on Magpul’s website, the grip has their triangle texture but the grip lacks grip storage. Interestingly there is a curve to wrap the corner between the front strap and trigger guard. Something the factory grips lack.

Along with the Magpul CZ Scorpion Grip, it appears Magpul is also making an enhanced magazine release. The factory magazine release is an ambidextrous ramp on either side of the trigger guard. You push the ramps forward to release the magazine. While you can use your index finger, many shooters opt for using their support hand thumb. Aftermarket manufacturers have made a variety of extended “duckbill” style mag releases to make this easier.

Unfortunately, Magpul only had a listing for their magazine release without a photo so we can only imagine what it will look like. Will it be a duckbill style paddle release? Or will it be elongated wings on either side? Only time will tell. Some CZ owners are hopeful that since Magpul is starting to make accessories for the Scorpion, could this mean Magpul made a magazine for the weapon system? Fingers crossed let’s hope so.
