The Mercedes-Benz Gruma Hunter X-Class Truck

Here at TFB we very rarely write about Automobiles, but when we do they are probably the best Automobiles in the World – for our needs.

When we covered luxury SUVs for hunting and fishing England had a clear win with their Bentley Benteyga. If hunting with Falcons is your thing, there can also only be a Bentley.

If the city life-style is more your thing, but you want to look like you’re ready for the Zombie Apocalypse there’s always the Tactical Urban Vehicle from Rezvani.

It is now time for the Land of the Autobahn to show what they are capable of, although their Hunter X-Class Truck is made more for off-road use than setting any speed records.

This German pick-up comes with everything you need, so that you and your best friend (hint: that’s probably not you wife) can travel in style as you go hunting.

The German after-market for tuning your car is absolutely huge. The Gruma Hunter is actually customized Mercedes-Benz X-Class (I understand the the X-Class is not available in the USA) and Gruma claims it’s the first pick-up designed with the hunter in mind.

Gruma Automobile GmbH have set themselves the task of adapting vehicles specifically to hunters. Their vehicles offer the usual quality of Mercedes-Benz and “leave nothing left to be desired“.

In 2017, the Gruma Hunter brand was launched by Frank Weike and his team in Dresden. In close cooperation with the entire hunting community, the first prototype was developed in the same year.

With the launch of the new X-Class from Mercedes-Benz in November 2017, the first hunting vehicles were completed.

There’s a lift for added ground clearance, improved undercarriage protection, special off-road tires and a front-end winch.

Below: Note the yellow Aqua2Go cleaning unit so you can keep the pick-up nice and tidy. Plenty of room for the dog as well.

Below: The roof doubles as a hunting platform.

Below: In case of a bear attack you can sit on your X-Class´ roof until the bear leaves, as demonstrated in this picture.

Below: The matte hunting green features anti-reflective properties, so that animals don’t get frightened. Seems to work.

Most importantly: Albeit small, there is a water-proof gun storage in the tailgate – this is The Firearm Blog after all!
