Kimber has taken one of their new models for 2018, the KHX series of 1911s, and upgraded it even further. Now you can get the KHX Custom (5″ barrel models) with a factory-installed Trijicon RMR. This upgrade obviously bumps the price for consumers, but it will immediately improve most anybody’s accuracy as well.

The new KHX Custom OI (Optics Installed) can be purchased either with or without a rail (RL – designation). The KHX Custom/RL OI weighs in at 39 ounces while the KHX Custom OI tips the scale at 38 ounces. So if you are an advocate of rail accessories or not it is not going to make or break you on the scale. The exact red dot that you are receiving with this package is the Trijicon RMR Type-2, 3.25 MOA Red Dot Optic. This optic will also co-witness with the white dot iron sights that are also installed on the pistol. Some other notable elements of this pistol are the Hogue Magrip G-10 Mag Grips which give the piece its unique color, curb appeal and fast-reload functionality. You also, like many Kimber 1911s, have a Premium Aluminum Trigger with a 4.0 – 5.0 Lbs Pull Weight.

Kimber had this short, but succinct statement to make about their new variations of the KHX 1911 pistol:

With a price-point that is fluttering very close to $2,000 this could be out of the price range of many shooters. What do all of you think?
