New from Swarovski: Z8i .75-6×20 for Driven Hunts

Negative zoom?  It can be a positive…

Recently while looking for a lightweight optic for an upcoming project, I came across an Instagram post from Swarovski Optik under the # “drivenbyhunting”

Swarovski Optik’s new Z8i 0.75-6×20 starts zoomed way out at 0.75 magnification.  Swarovski files this under “it’s a feature, not a bug”, due to the advantage of having a 30% larger field of view for better peripheral awareness during driven hunts.  I’m no Franz-Albrecht myself, but I have been in situations with a good number of wild boar zooming past, and can see where the 0.75x would be an asset (then again, that’s what I use an open-sighted lever-action for).

Per Swarovski UK (there is no item description on the North America site as of yet):

    Z8i 0.75-6×20 L

Designed by SWAROVSKI OPTIK for driven hunts, the Z8i 0.75-6×20 L with 8x zoom means you never miss any of the action. Thanks to VIEWPLUS 0.75x magnification, this rifle scope offers 30% more field of view, while the D-I reticle has been reduced to a single point of focus to enable an unobscured view of the target. The CLICKONE function has a tangible click so that you know when you have reached 1x magnification. You can also customize the light, compact Z8i 0.75-6×20 L to suit your particular hunting needs with our range of top-quality accessories.
