First introduced at TriggrCon 2018 arms exhibition, Grey Ghost Precision Combat Pistol is now available for preorder. In order to avoid confusion, let me tell you right away that mechanically this is not a new handgun but rather a highly customized compact size Glock (G19). This pistol is packed with so many custom features and has such a unique appearance, that it can be easily mistaken for a new design.
Let’s first see how the manufacturer describes this handgun then go through its features.
The GGP COMBAT PISTOL wasn’t designed for social media posterity or luxuriously lounging around in a gun safe until the next barbeque. It was engineered with distinctive features that are conducive to winning gunfights. Tighter critical tolerances and improved barrel lockup for consistent accuracy with each shot. Aggressive grip patterns and enhanced ergonomics for improved shooting grip and manipulations. Most importantly, the same unwavering reliability that our military, law enforcement and civilian users have always demanded from every Grey Ghost Precision product. Accept no compromises. Take no quarter.
The GGP Combat Pistol was a logical addition to our weapon platforms after the successful results of our aftermarket slides. Now instead of acquiring an OEM pistol to obtain a base frame, you can buy a complete Grey Ghost Precision Combat Pistol and hit the range with confidence.
The frame of this pistol is the 100% complete FFL variance of the Polymer80 PF940C frame that was custom made for Grey Ghost Precision. It has a custom grip pattern that consists of letters “GGP”. The front and rear straps of the grip feature a finer texture. The company also points out that the full-size Picatinny rail of this frame is in line with the bore axis which makes the mounted accessories to be parallel with the barrel. Other features of the frame include the double undercut trigger guard, beavertail extension, and 107.5-degree grip angle.
The Combat Pistol comes equipped with a GGP slide that is machined out of 17-4 stainless steel and has a black nitride surface treatment/finish. According to the manufacturer, this slide has tighter tolerances than the factory Glock slide. It also features rather large front and rear serrations and comes with a set of Night Fision sights. Lastly, the slide is cut to take Trijicon RMR red dot sights and comes with a cover plate made of G10. The Combat Pistol also features a match grade 9mm GGP barrel.
In the description of this pistol, Grey Ghost Precision separately specifies the improved controls of the gun which consist of a CMC Glock flat trigger, extended magazine release and extended slide stop lever.
The Grey Ghost Precision Combat Pistol comes with three Magpul PMAG 15 GL9 magazines and a custom soft pistol case. The regular price of this pistol is $1,499, however, right now it is available at a 10% preorder discount and has an MSRP of $1,349. Estimated shipping date is December 2018/January 2019.
