    Rifle Dynamics has announced about the addition of California compliant AKs to the list of their main products. The company has built multiple custom California compliant AKs before, but now they have these rifle as main production models. Rifle Dynamics calls this project Operation California Air Lift. Let’s watch the video where Jim Fuller, the founder of Rifle Dynamics, tells about these new rifles.

    Currently, there are three models of California compliant AKs listed on the company’s website. The model designations of these rifles are AKM-CA, RD-702-CA, and RD-502-CA which represent the “featureless” versions of company’s AKM, RD-702, and RD-502 rifles respectively. Let’s take a brief look at each of these rifles.

    AKM-CA

    If you want to have a rifle with a more classic AKM look, then you should probably opt for the AKM-CA. Below you can find the specs of this rifle (quoted from the Rifle Dynamics’ website):

    The MSRP of AKM-CA is $1,450. It comes with a standard AKM slant brake, however, for additional $50, you can order it with Primary Weapons Systems JTAC 47 muzzle brake.


    RD-702-CA / RD-502-CA

    These two rifles have more modern look and features. With the exception of the caliber they are chambered in (7.62x39mm and 5.45x39mm) they pretty much have identical features. These rifles come with Generation 3 Venom Tactical gas block/front sight block combo, Fuller rear sight, UltiMAK rail, and Surefire PROCOMP muzzle device.

    The MSRP of Rifle Dynamics RD-702-CA / RD-502-CA rifles (in the above-described configuration) is $2,200. For an additional cost, you can also order the following five custom options: ALG AKT-EL trigger, SLR Rifleworks 10.5″ rail set (with M-Lok or Keymod), Krebs Custom enhanced safety selector with bolt hold open cutout, Evolution Defense Group handguard, and AK side rail installation.
