100K+ In 180 Days – GLOCK 19X Breaks Sales Forecasts

The announcement and subsequent release of the GLOCK 19X pistol was an emotional time for the company, fans and critics alike. For years the Austrian powerhouse’s MHS pistol submission was shrouded in secrecy, salivating curious onlookers with possible models like the law enforcement-only 17M and 19M guns. Whereas GLOCK fans understood the reason for the G17 grip and G19 slide configuration as being the model that had been submitted for the XM17/XM18 Army new sidearm trials, critics took the release of the 19X as an opportunity to suggest that the reverse configuration – G19 grip with a G17 slide is really what shooters wanted. However, we are just over 180 days since the 19X’s release and GLOCK is announcing that it has shattered its own sales forecasts with over 100K pistols sold to U.S. consumers.

The 19X is a pistol that really needs to be held to be truly appreciated. A superficial flyby of the stocky 9mm handgun can leave onlookers thinking that this pistol doesn’t make sense. Keeping in mind that, at its core, the 19X was designed for uniformed, duty carry and not for deep concealment, the large G17-sized grip offers a lot of real estate for hand placement. Having shot my 19X at least once every week since New Years Day, it has become one of my favorite pistols. And I say that freely, knowing that the fanboy, tomato-throwing, 1911 crowd will be along soon to run me out of town.

Rumor has it that I am not alone in my love for the 19X. Law enforcement agencies from throughout the U.S. have shown an interest in adopting GLOCK’s latest release as a duty sidearm. One could speculate that the addition of a more neutral colored 19X would help to spur the 19X adoption by uniformed LE.

As for the G17 slide with a G19 frame model (if asked, I’d call it the 17S), your guess is as good as mine on its potential for becoming reality. But I can this say with full confidence: A 17S Gen 5 model would easily outsell 100K units in 180 days.

If you haven’t had the chance, call around to your local dealers for the chance at getting some hands-on time with the 19X. I think you’ll see why sales have been so brisk.

From the Marksman Barrel and advanced ergonomics to the Coyote color and nPVD coating, the G19X extends the GLOCK legacy and will be a welcomed addition to your collection.

GLOCK’s first ever “Crossover” pistol, the GLOCK 19X, combines the best features of two of its most popular and most trusted field-tested platforms. The full-size GLOCK 17 frame and the compact GLOCK 19 slide have joined forces to produce the ideal pistol for all conditions and all situations.

The 19X comes in the coyote color with the first-ever factory colored slide, finished with a nPVD slide coating to prevent corrosion. Additional features include the GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB), no finger grooves, ambidextrous slide stop levers and lanyard loop. Included with the pistol is a standard 17-round magazine, two 17+2-round magazines and coyote-colored pistol case.

Anyone who doesn't like the 19x has never held one or shot one. these guns have the perfect balance ands it's the absolute best of the Gen 5s because it has no finger grooves but no dumbass magazine cutout either.

And it would be my next Glock if only they'd make one in BLACK. I don't live in a desert or wear desert camo gear and I don't need to pretend I'm an army guy. Black is better for concealment and blends in the shadows. I think a NORMAL black Glock would be better for Law enforcement as well. And I don't "get" the latest craze of designer color schemes on the Glocks.

I've always preferred the Glock 19 to the Glock 17. and the 19 is better for concealment but as a duty gun worn outside the waistband, the G19 is perfect and a half inch more barrel and slide doesn't make much difference but a half inch LESS barrel and slide make all the difference in the world.

It doesn't surprise eme that these guns are selling so well, People are even willing to live with the putrid Coyote Turd Yellow color just to get a gun with superior balance and a comfortable grip.
