The SIG MCX Rattler Review ft. the SIG SRD 762Ti Silencer

by James Reeves

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reviews the SIG MCX Rattler, a 5.5″ PDW in .300BLK that has been purchased for US SOCOM evaluation. The Rattler is, essentially, as scaled-down MCX in the incredible .300 AAC Blackout cartridge, which offers bullets in supersonic weights from 80 to near 200 grains and subsonic rounds optimized for suppressor use and exceeding 200 grains. It shares many features and parts with the AR-15, allowing the common AR shooter to pick the Rattler up and run with it. What makes the Rattler tick and how well does it run? James reviews the Rattler with SIG’s SRD762Ti titanium silencer in this episode of TFBTV.

From SIG’s press materials:

“Rapid deployment, thin, agile and precise. This is the SIG MCX® Rattler. Featuring a 5.5″ PDW barrel, the MCX platform has never been more compact or accessible. Ready to go wherever it’s needed, the MCX Rattler PSB features a 3-position telescoping pistol brace for stability and easy concealment. This gun was designed from the ground up to be as discrete as possible while retaining all the robust capabilities of the MCX. Free-floating M-LOK® handguards matched with a PDW upper and 5.5″ barrel, the MCX Rattler PSB is the ideal choice for fast-moving operators.”

I loved the 9" MCX Virtus pistol I had in 300 BLK. That and the Rattler have a 1:5" twist which Sig says I meant to stabilize bullets of 150-220 grains. I like the Rattler, but $2500 is too much and spare parts were difficult for me to locate.

Shame on you for spreading misinformation on how Stoner DI works.
