Card Holder Replicating a 1911 Grip and Magazine

The subject of this article is not a firearm, but it is definitely something that many of you would love to have or at least learn about especially if you are a 1911 aficionado. This is actually a KickStarter crowdfunding project. It is called M1911-H Reloading Card Holder and represents a card holder that is designed to look like a 1911 pistol grip and replicate the magazine release and insertion from/into the grip. Here is an animated image demonstrating how this gadget works.

This is a two-piece card holder where the cards are inserted into a separate metal compartment which is then inserted into the main grip simulating the magazine insertion into the pistol’s grip. The inner “magazine” part is released by pressing the button on the outer “grip” part. The button is not arranged like the 1911 magazine release button. It is located on the “front strap”. They designed it so to make the card holder ambidextrous.

The metal parts of the M1911-H card holder are machined out of aluminum-magnesium alloy and the grip panels are made of walnut. The grip panels have two options: plain or checkered. The metal parts also have two color options: silver or black.

The inner compartment can hold 25 business cards or 6 credit cards. You can also use it as a cigarette case by storing 6 cigarettes into it. The customers can order spare inner parts separately and have several “magazines” for the single outer grip.

The starting pledge that will give you an M1911-H card holder as a reward is $75. For additional $10 you can order a laser engraved text on the floorplate of the magazine. The estimated start of shipping is November 2018. There are more pledging options which you can learn about by visiting this crowdfunding campaign’s page.
