Kaiser Shooting Products has released the second generation of their X-7 Fusion polymer AR-15 upper and lower receiver set. The primary difference of the V.2 receiver set from the V.1 is the use of a new polymer which has improved characteristics compared to the previous one. Another difference is that unlike the V.1 receiver set, V.2 comes with an anti-walk trigger and hammer pin set.

According to Kaiser Shooting Products, the polymer they use is superior to aluminum and outperforms the latter in multiple different endurance tests. Here is how the company describes the properties of their polymer:

Kaiser’s proprietary polymer receiver sets are superior to aluminum in nearly every way. Injection molded from specially formulated virgin polymers enhanced with impact modifiers and both long and short-strand glass fibers for impact and shatter resistance.

As expected from a polymer receiver set, it is extremely lightweight. The company states that their receiver set is almost twice as light as the standard aluminum one. The polymer construction also makes these receivers highly corrosion and temperature resistant. The company has successfully tested the receivers in numerous harsh environmental conditions including the saltwater tests. Another feature of the Kaiser polymer receiver set is that the upper receiver requires no lubrication whatsoever.

Other features of the Kaiser X-7 V.2 receivers are the top Picatinny rail on the upper receiver, M-4 type feed ramp and beveled magazine well. The sides and the front wall of the magazine well have waffle pattern texture providing a non-slip gripping surface. The trigger guard is a single piece with the lower receiver. Note also that there is no forward assist on the upper receiver. All the pinholes and threaded portions have aluminum inserts.

The Kaiser receiver sets are compatible with mil-spec AR-15 triggers and pistol grips. The Kaiser upper receiver is compatible with standard AR-15 lower receivers, however, as the manufacturer notes, in such combination, the lines of the two receivers won’t match.

The Kaiser Shooting Products X-7 V.2 stripped AR-15 receiver sets are available in four color options (black, grey, OD green and FDE) and can be ordered with one of the two ejection port cover options. Depending on the color and ejection port cover choice the price of these receiver sets varies from $379 to $461.
