One of the main advantages of the Ranger stock is its light weight. The stock with all the hardware installed (bedding block, stainless steel recoil lug etc.) weighs 2 lbs 7 oz (1,100 grams). As you can see in the images, they have removed the material wherever it is possible without compromising the rigidity of the stock.

German Gun Stock also uses different combinations of materials and coatings to get the desired properties in different areas of the stock. Here is a quote from the company’s website telling about the materials used in the Ranger stock:

“The “Ranger” as well as the “Predator” consists in the core of cross-laminated birchwood layers with a fixed coating of epoxy, as already known from fiberglass stocks!
The epoxy resin gives the stock a hard and robust surface that effectively protects it against scratching or dents. Our colors are also made of colored epoxy resin. This makes it not only splash-proof, but also water resistant!
The handle area, as well as the forend, is coated with a special grip varnish, to offer secure handle with sweat or wet hands always.

The bedding block of the stock is made of 7075 aluminum and has an integrated stainless steel recoil lug. The stock also has an adjustable cheek rest. In order to adjust it, the user needs to press the button below the cheek piece, adjust it to the desired height and release the button.

These stocks are available in a variety of color options. The company also offers custom colors, camouflages and personalization options. They ship the Ranger stock worldwide. MSRP for the customers from EU is €799. If you are not in European Union you will need to pay €670 (about $815).
