GLOCK's Other Businesses: Firewood, Wood Gasifiers, Dietary Supplements and Horse Performance Center
In this article of The Firearm Blog, you won’t see any firearms. The only connection of the subject to the firearm world is that we are going to take a look at other ventures of one of the world’s largest pistol manufacturers – Glock. While browsing the European version of Glock website, I discovered that there is a section telling about other Glock businesses. I think it would be interesting for our readers to learn about what else besides firearms bears the famous logo. The names of the Glock companies listed below link to their websites where you can learn more about them.
This Glock company makes firewood! Just like the pistols, the firewood is available in all kinds of sizes.
The Glock Forst website is only in German. I’ll quote an auto-translated part from their website that mentions the Glock name and really sounds odd to someone like me and you who is not used to hear the name Glock when talking about anything else than firearms.
fire.kraft.kaminholz is a 100% natural product from our own PEFC certified Glock forests.
This Glock venture makes wood gas generators. These machines convert wood into gas which after cooling and being filtered can be used in internal combustion engines or for other purposes.
According to Glock:
Wood gasifier CHP GLOCK GGV provides an efficient and ecological type of energy supply for your business with particularly high heat requirements.
When you click on “Glock Health” section on the company’s website, it will direct you to another website that sells dietary supplements under a brand name called G-PUR.
G-PUR® keeps bad mycotoxins, toxic heavy metals (like lead and mercury) and dietary cholesterol from absorbing into your body.
Here is how Glock describes their horse performance center on the website of this non-gun business:
The GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER is one of Austria’s most modern equestrian facilities. For self-confessed horse fanatic Gaston Glock, the planning and building of this exceptional venue is a dream come true. His vision was to create a state-of-the-art environment for the riders and horses that participate in national and international equestrian sports. Located in the southernmost part of Austria, the GHPC offers unique opportunities for events of this kind. In addition to luxury stables, two air-conditioned, heatable indoor arenas and a large covered dressage ring, fans of equestrian sports will also find extensive outdoor facilities for dressage, show jumping and other competitions that are a cut above the rest.
As you can see, the horse performance center is the personal passion of Gaston Glock. I have no idea why Glock invested in the rest of these businesses (for capital diversification?) and what scale they have compared to the gun company.

Steyr makes engines and used to have a subsidiary partnered with Daimler, made motorcycles and buses and stuff.
It's a common theme for Austrian firearms manufacturers to diversify their AO's.
